Development & Construction
Campus Crest takes great pride in the properties we develop and the communities we serve. To provide our residents with the best fully-loaded living experience available, we are continually improving our processes and our buildings to maximize resident comfort, health and safety:
- Sustainable Sites Selection - we choose sites in close proximity to campus & services, with access to alternative transportation, and are pursuing new opportunities for urban infill & brownfield redevelopment sites
- Community Engagement Process - allows existing community members to have a voice during the site selection & entitlement process of future Campus Crest properties
- Integrated Design - allows each part of our organization and our design team to inform our product, based on resident & employee feedback
- 2011 Grove prototype redesign - In order to align with best practices as identified by ENERGY STAR® and the LEED® for Homes, all 2012 building projects will include the following sustainable building practices:
- Efficient Building Envelope: increased insulation, improved windows and tighter building envelopes with fresh air intakes. We are conducting blower door tests on past properties to identify opportunities for improvements
- Water Efficiency: ultra-water efficient fixtures, native & adaptive landscaping
- Construction Waste Recycling: Implementing a construction waste recycling program where available.
- Healthy Building Materials: specifications for low and no-emitting paints and finishes
- Increased Energy Performance: efficient heating and cooling equipment, ENERGY STAR® appliances, and compact florescent lighting (CFLs)
- LEED® for Homes Certification - committed certification on Ft. Collins, CO project, with more in the pipeline
