Holiday Bikes

Since the beginning, a main focus of Campus Crest Communities has been on giving back to the local communities where the company owns and operates properties.

In 2006, in Milledgeville, Ga. and Carrollton, Ga., Campus Crest established its annual "Bicycle Giveaway." Each year, company co-founders Ted Rollins and Mike Hartnett partner with Flagg Chapel Baptist Church in Milledgeville and Westside Full Gospel Baptist Church in Carrollton to present bicycles to children in need. Each year the program is in service, Campus Crest gives away more bicycles than the previous year.

"Integrating ourselves into the local communities where we operate properties is at the heart of our operating platform. As a group, we strongly feel that it is our responsibility to give back and improve the communities where we live and work. We're not just in the business of owning and operating student-housing communities. We're in the process of improving the human condition. With each class that graduates from college and leaves our communities we want those students to walk away with an understanding of what it is to make a difference in the world," commented Rollins and Harnett.

At this year's event, Rollins and Hartnett were made honorary Deacons of the Westside Full Gospel Baptist Church.
