Corporate Responsibility
At Campus Crest, we feel strongly about using our success in student housing to help others. We also want to inspire people to give back to their own communities. Here's just a couple ways we're trying to change people's lives:
Horatio Alger Association
Both of our Founders have a strong commitment to helping others through the Horatio Alger Association. Horatio Alger inspired young people to believe in the American dream. He felt if someone worked hard enough and never gave up, they could achieve anything they wanted.
Campus Crest awards three four-year housing scholarships at each location to those who receive the Horatio Alger scholarship. http://www.horatioalger.com/giving.cfm
Milledgeville Dream Center
The members of Flagg Chapel Baptist had a vision for a couple buildings behind their worship center. They wanted to create a gymnasium and day care center to serve as a positive place for the local youth.
To do this they needed a construction partner. So The Grove stepped in to help. Now they have a place where kids can spend their time away from bad influences.
The Grove will play a big part in the success of the project long after construction is complete. "We"re looking forward to having residents of other Grove communities volunteer to tutor some of our children in our after-school programs," says Rev. Omer Reid, Pastor of Flagg Chapel. "The Grove has been, and will continue to be, a godsend to our community and our church."
It's good to know we are making a difference. We look forward to doing even more for local communities in the future.
